COE Project - Diversified Plain Weave Table Runner
I promised pictures of the projects I submitted for my COE (Certificate of Excellence in Handweaving). The first one is a table runner.

I used this piece to demonstrate the effect the color of the warp has on the cloth.

I am so impressed by you, all the time!
I have been looking for information on diversified plain weave. I ran across your blog looking at bead leno samples when I saw your table runner. Do you know of any books on this weave structure? Thanks for your help.
p.s. The runner is fabulous!
Sandy - So far there are no books on Diversified. Here are the four main resources I found in my research. Most are articles.
Cherepov, Klara. Diversified Plain Weave. 1972 (This is a manuscript)
van der Hoogt, Madelyn. The Best of Weaver’s - Thick n Thin. (Book)
Wertenberger, Kathryn. “Diversified Plain Weave.” Handwoven, Nov/Dec 1987. 62-63.
Torgow, Joan. “Diversified Plain Weave.” Handwoven, Nov/Dec 1996. 62-64.
Viada, Laura. “The Beauty and Versatility of Thick ‘n Thin.” Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot, Handweavers Guild of America, Summer, 2005. 44-47
For years I visited and did hand work with Klara Cherapov. We talked about her entire lif story and I marveled at her weaving, but I did everything BUT weaving and so did not recognize what a genius and force she was !
Since she told me so much about her life with her daughter before coming to the US, I am hoping to find her daughter - last known to be where Klara went to live in Lancaster Pa.
I don’t think the daughter’s name was the same. She taught physics I beleive. I want to get in touch with her. My granddaughter entered Franklin & Marshall this week and has offered to try to find the daughter! Can you give me any address for Klara in that area?
